Millstone Farm and Millstone Farm COBL Named ORE’s Country Homes Challenge Winner

January 12, 2010 at 4:06 am (Housing, Mod Releases)

The quintessential country cottage, with it’s working water wheel, ivy covered walls and quaint decor. There is so much to see and do in this unique home. Start by uncovering an intriguing and somewhat dark history behind the home. When you have ownership of the home it is time to explore the many, many unique and interactive aspects. From general household chores like baking, doing laundry, sewing and cooking, to caring for the animals and tending the garden. Not to mention soap making, pottery, painting, crafting and so much more! This house is the role players dream and will keep you entertained for a very long time.

-Shezrie

Millstone Farm, winner of Oblivion Real Estate’s Country Homes Challenge, is now available at Nexus. Also available to those who have downloaded while it was an Oblivion Real Estate exclusive are the compatibility patches for Unique Landscapes “Ancient Yews” and Millstone Farm.

I’ve also made a COBL version available.

For those new to Millstone Farm, it’s most likely the most interactive house mod made. Every corner offers some variety of crafting or activity, and there’s something for almost every character to enjoy. The readme is 20 pages, but for ease of reading to learn if Millstone is right for you please visit the online readme and read the features list:

There’s many more screenshots available at Nexus…but to really understand the level of playability you must read the feature list!

Midlander Updated

January 12, 2010 at 2:49 am (Mod Releases, Mod Updates)

AlienSlof was awesome enough to make a Roberts Male version, as well as an optional Roberts Female version if HGEC isn’t your body mod of choice. This inspired me to update, and get rid of all those nasty gaps. The link is the same, but the file is different!

Mid-Lander For HGEC

December 28, 2009 at 11:37 pm (Clothing and Armor, Mod Releases)

This is an outfit mix for HGEC, in eight color variants that I’ve decided to release. I had planned to go a completely different direction, more dirty leather rouge-ish, but I never get around to working on it. Plus, it has a gap in sneak mode when viewed from behind. I just don’t have it in me to finish it. So, if you play in 1st person most of the time and don’t follow around anyone who’s sneaking while equipping it you really won’t notice!

Captain Molly For HGEC

Download at TesNexus:
http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=28765

(Copy and paste, it seems the host’s link codes breaks frequently)

Version: 1
Date: December 17, 2009
Category: Clothing/Armor
Requirements: Oblivion Patch 1.2.0.214, Eye Candy Body Textures
Author(s): Korana

Description
===========
This is a pirate style outfit for HGEC. There are 10 sets available
with matching hats.

To obtain the armor, you must enter Anvil’s Harborside Warehouse and get
the key to Captain Molly’s locked chest. The key is in a sack near Wilhelm
the Worm’s sleeping area.

The chest contains 3 of each variant, and will respawn.

The hats are set up as amulets and will not replace your current hair.

While you are tresspassing, I took special care so that the sack that
holds the note and the key and the armor chest will not count as stealing
to open them and armor will not appear as stolen and are yours to keep.

And if you’re wondering who Captain Molly was, she was an old Morrowind
character of mine…and crazy as can be.

(Note, brown strap texture on corset has changed since screenshots were
taken…I don’t play as much as I used to.)

The outfits are set up as armor for companion use, as I’ve ran into a few
that refuse to wear clothing at times.

Required mods
=============
* HGEC/Eyecandy body textures
* Oblivion Patch 1.2.0.214

Install
=======

1. Extract this archive into your Oblivion directory to install the files.

2. Start Oblivion Launcher, Click ‘Data Files’ and place a checkmark besides the following:
Captain_Molly_HGEC.esp

Uninstall
=========
1. Start Oblivion Launcher, click Data Files, uncheck the .esp
2. Delete the following files associated with the mod.
*meshes\armor\NK\captain
*textures\armor\NK\captain
*textures\menus\icons\armor\NK\captain
3. Delete Captain_Molly_HGEC.esp

Incompatibility
===============
None

Known Issues or Bugs
====================
You might get minor clipping in some poses, and major clipping with more extreme
pose mods.

Your head/hair may clip through the hats.

The outfits are high poly and may cause slow FPS on some systems. You have been
warned- I don’t want to hear it. I didn’t have to share!

Fans of Shadowwatcher, Blackmarsh Witch, and the Acolyte of Kynareth who’ve been waiting for an HGEC version have had their wish come true…thanks to Spirited Treasure. Links to downloads:

The Woodcutter’s Cabin

December 14, 2009 at 11:05 pm (Housing, Mod Releases)

New mod, up on Nexus. Ahh power modding at it’s best. I thought I spent two weeks on this, then I looked at the date I actually started and the time I took off it…only a week. Enjoy Christmas in the mountains (or everyday really!)

Description
===========
You arrive in Cheydinhal and overhear a rumor that a man they call The Woodcutter has gone missing. Once you find him
you gain entry into a snowy mountain valley, where a rustic cabin awaits you! This cabin is well suited towards fighter
types, role playing nords, or anyone looking for a less feminine place for their characters to call home.

Location
========
To start the quest visit Cheydinhal. If you’re already in Cheydinhal or in a house within Cheydinhal’s walls you’ll
over hear this rumor. A map is included to the mountain pass. Once you’ve found the woodcutter, you may instantly
fast travel to the pass once you’ve been given the location. Once through the pass, follow the path to find the cabin.

You will need Tamriel’s border regions disabled to reach the mountain pass. It sits just outside the border.

Features
=======

* The house sits inside it’s very own world space for you to explore…a snowy mountain valley. (If parts looks familiar
it’s because I copied Pale Pass and started from there…this mod was completed in under two weeks.)

* You may chop wood at the chopping block if you have an iron war axe equipped.

* You may light or un-light the fires inside the cabin if you have the wood, or a shovel to put out the fires with. If
not, you’ll burn yourself. (A shovel is by the front door.)

* You may repair your weapons at the repair anvil. When activated, a repair hammer will be added to your inventory if you
do not have one.

* You may forge iron weapons at the forge…if you have iron ore. There is a mine located within the mountain valley where
you may collect iron ore…but you have to work for it!

* There is a working sauna included underneath the house (great for avoiding those chilly floors!) You control it’s on or
off status.

* You may craft fur armor on an armor dummy inside the house if you have enough pelts to use. In a jam for some pelts? Try
exploring the area, you might just encounter some hunting!

* You may fill a crude metal tankard (don’t worry, there are plenty around the house!) with mead at the keg in the kitchen.
When you drink the tankard of mead, you receive an empty tankard to use again. If you’ve sold all your tankards or lost them,
there is a respawning case of them behind the bear skin curtain on the right side of the bed. This is the ONLY container that
respawns so do NOT store items in that crate. It is properly labelled.

* If you have lit the fire in the kitchen, you may take a chunk of venison off the roasting meat in the fireplace.

* A doored cabinet contains your alchemy and medicinal supplies:
Activate the bandages to have your health restored
Activate the ointment of energy to have your magicka restored
Activate the ointment of dispel to dispel unwanted magical effects
Activate the ointment of cure disease to cure yourself.

There is also a chest here designed specifically for ingredient storage.

You may also activate the mortar and pestle in the cabinet to open up a static alchemy menu, meaning you can
use it to perform alchemical experiments without needing to carry and equip alchemy equipment…just your
ingredients.

11) You may sleep in the bed, or curl up in front of the fireplace for a quick nap.

Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas

December 9, 2009 at 2:27 pm (Mod Releases, Modders Resources)

Since I spend quite a bit of time over at Oblivion Real Estate, when a discussion came up about showing mods for the 12 days of Christmas I opted to make a mod to share. However, my project focus quickly went from holiday glitz to a rustic cabin in the snow. While that project still needs a few more days to finish up, I decided to go ahead and finish up the Christmas items I had been working on.

Download, available at TesNexus:

http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=28620

This is only one set of gifts, there’s 11 additional sets in other variations…a total of 48 to combine as you choose.

Screw you guys, I’m going home.

October 26, 2009 at 6:55 pm (Rant)

I would like to start out by re-posting the fabulous screenshot thread warnings from the official Forums:

NO criticism should be directed at the PERSON – only at his or her WORK.
Also, whatever criticism is presented, it should NOT be negative in general terms – such as, “That screenie is really lame.” This type of non-specific criticism only insults and does not provide any help whatsoever. Or even worse, this kind of criticism: “You are a silly man with a silly idea.” If you really must say something negative to someone outside of this simple “code”, keep it off this thread!

Another bottom line rule on this thread we have learned over time: If you find a post really offensive, REPORT IT AND IGNORE IT! The moderators know how to quickly deal with any such situation, and will remove any offensive posts, if they are actually offensive. Arguing or making demands regarding the post, invariably ends up worsening the situation, and can even result in all involved parties getting a warning.

Also, some posts can be too vague and subject to interpretation – so please word your posts very clearly to avoid any misunderstandings, especially if they are critical in nature.

Commenting on style of play in screenshots:
Due to a recent resurgence of abusive posts, any comments concerning the style of play a member employs should be constructive and friendly – and always aligned with the standards for commenting within this topic and on this Forum. Members have a wide variety of playing styles and of capturing screens – and no subjective (or moral, ethnic, political, religious, cultural, social, sexual, etc.) preferences should be dictated to others as right or wrong on this thread. All members are encouraged to post their screens regardless of their style of play – as long as they stay within the rules of this Forum and thread.

Seems like a pretty simple thing to follow, right? Apparently wrong. Lately, in several communities it seems there has been constant flaming for people uploading screenshots in their style of play. It’s a fantasy game, why can’t we run around in skimpy armor? Why can’t we just do what we want in our own game and not have to worry about persecution from others when we share our screenshots that we’ve worked hard to set up and/or edit?

So, here’s my plea to people reading this- STOP. There is no point to trying to ruin the enjoyment of the game for others. You may think you are clever or cute by pointing out that most characters are female, but your actions have consequences. Realize them!

You are making people feel alienated and not wanting to share. How would you feel if someone came along and did that to you? I’ve spoken with several people lately who have retreated to smaller venues to share works and screenshots because of people doing similar things. Even at times it makes me want to scream “Screw you guys, I’m going home!”

Blog Exclusive: Better Spriggans

October 19, 2009 at 10:33 pm (Blog Exclusive)

Lately, I’m feeling overwhelmed. So many projects, so little time. To top it off, blender has decided to break in some untraceable game crashing way every other mesh that comes out of it. With a half finished mod full of those meshes and a deadline for the competition not so far away it’s not exactly enjoyable.

I keep meaning to go back and work on the spriggan replacement meshes & textures. She has a few spots that reflect light backwards. Completely not my fault thankyouverymuch. So, as my way of saying thank you for stopping by here she is!

Spriggans

Download link at Mediafire (Sorry for the copy and paste neccesity, word press doesn’t seem to like making links work lately)

http://www.mediafire.com/file/2zzalitykid/Better_Spriggans.7z

Name: Better Spriggans
Version: .5
Date: October 19, 2009
Category: Game Improvements
Requirements: Oblivion (duh)
Author(s): Korana http://korana.elricm.com

Description
===========
This is a set of replacement meshes and textures for the spriggan creature. The following have been performed:

-Adjusted textures
-More greenery and flowers added to hair and body
-Odd glow spots to face removed
-More which I’ve forgotten

She still has issues, in particular a few spots on her reflect light oddly. This is the fault of the original bethesda
meshes used, but I’ve got too much going on to fix it. Also, her flowers can warp oddly in certain poses.

I chose to release this as a blog exclusive mod only. You may not redistribute this in any form.

Install
=======

1. Extract this archive into your Oblivion directory to install the files.

No archive invalidation should be needed, as the game engine will check for meshes and textures and update the game accordingly.
However, sometimes that glitches. If you’re still seeing the old spriggans, open up your archive invalidation.txt (or create one)
and type in the following:

meshes/creatures/spriggan/spriggan.nif
meshes/creatures/spriggan/hair.nif

Uninstall
=========
1. Start Oblivion Launcher, click Data Files, uncheck the .esp
2. Delete the following files associated with the mod.
*meshes\creatures\spriggan
*textures\creatures\spriggan

3. Remove the following lines from your archive invalidation.txt if added:
meshes/creatures/spriggan/spriggan.nif
meshes/creatures/spriggan/hair.nif

Incompatibility
===============
None known.

History
=======
October 19, 2009 – Released it. Chance are I’ll never get a chance to get back to it, plus blender now thinks it’s cool
to break every other mesh it exports.

Contact
=======

You can find me under “Korana” at ORE, nexus, the official forums, TESeyecandy.co.uk,
or http://tesadventures.com You can email me at the following address:
Roxykittyd@roadrunner.com

Credits
=======
Thanks to Bethesda for creating Oblivion.
Thanks to the Nifskope Team
Thanks to the Blender Team!
Thanks to LHammonds for the Readme Generator this file was based on

Licensing/Legal
===============

This is an exclusive release as my way of saying thank you to a few people who stop by my feeble blog offering regularly. As the
mesh is not finished you may NOT under any circumstances use this in any project or distribute this archive without permission.

I do what I want! I think…

October 13, 2009 at 5:16 pm (Rant)

The past week has been somewhat of a challenging week for me. The latest Oblivion Real Estate challenge opened up earlier this month. While working dilegently on a “country home”, I’ve discovered there’s just so much of this I’ve already done and I’ve been pushing myself to come up with new ideas and new ways of doing things. The decorating part has always come easy, not this time. I’ve been plagued with “decorator’s block!”

After several hours of staring at a corner of a room, I can usually struggle past it. However, this past week I’ve received a few emails and a nexus comment about my style of decorating that have really begun to get under my skin. Immersive lighting (not the BAM YOU BLIND lighting that the game tends to have), lush floral settings, and clutter are things that tend to be my modders thumb print when making an interior. It seems some people don’t like these things and have decided that complaining about it in my email is the way to handle such things….instead of uninstalling the mod or learning how to modify the mod themselves to their liking. If you like something, stop by and let the author know! It seems sometimes we hear an awful lot of criticism about some incredibly small things while we are offering you something we worked very hard on for free to enjoy.

All this has left me with a struggle- keep doing what I like to do, or try to make something that appeals more to the masses while still trying desperately to make it mine? That evil bunny that lives inside of me wants to push even further to make it even more lush, even more cluttered, and even more FPS hitting than ever before. Tell me what to do? I do what I want! I think…

One last note: I realize detailed interiors may not always work well on some systems, but above all I mod for my own system…not yours. I recently made a joke about taking stock out in computers and making a mod that will blow up your computer. One person took this not as joke, and the joke had to be removed. However if I make a mod and your computer cannot handle it do us both a favor- I am not you and your computer is not mine…remember that. It runs on mine, and this mod is mine. Go complain to someone else, uninstall the mod…whatever you want to do. I won’t cry if you don’t use it, but chances are you’ll irritate me to a major degree if you go complaining to me about how your computer can’t run my mod. Upgrade, learn to mod, or take up knitting…

One Massive Project down…many more to go.

October 9, 2009 at 5:20 am (Clothing and Armor, Mod Releases)

New Release up @ The Nexus:

http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=27530

Don’t even ask me how I finally found time to manage to get this finished while working on another housing competition entry. I should look into cloning….

Long ago, Kynareth had a great temple complex where her Acolytes worshipped her. The complex was thought to be completely destroyed in a massive earthquake, but someone discovered the
secret and awoke the last Acolyte of Kynareth.

Travel to the Abandoned Camp, south east of Fort Black Boot (map included) to learn the whole story, and obtain the forgotten armor of the Acolytes of Kynareth. Come prepared for a fight…

There are 40 sets of armor in this mod, 20 each of 2 variants. The skirted version’s texture warps considerably in certain poses, so skirtless versions have been provided. You may find the armors in Ayelid coffers within the temple complex. The coffers will respawn.

Once you’ve fought your way into the Lost Temple, seek out the last Acolyte. She will yeild her place among the servants of Kynareth to you, awarding you the actual title of the Acolyte of Kynareth. You may also receive daily blessings from the altar. Please note that you cannot use this altar to gain quicker advancement with Knights of the Nine, I’ve taken consideration to avoid
that possibility.
